In the debut episode of TrendyMum Talks, we sit down with Antonia Philp to explore how she juggles her four demanding roles—career, co-founder of Nursem, mum to three active boys, and wife. Antonia shares practical, actionable tips on handling stress and burnout, emphasizing the importance of open communication and a solid support system.

Antonia is a pediatric nurse with a career spanning tertiary medicine and pediatric intensive care. She currently serves as a pediatric cardiothoracic transplant nurse specialist. In 2011, she and her husband Jonny founded Nursem, a leading skincare brand inspired by their passion for healthcare staff. Their pitch on Dragons' Den received five offers.

- Running a side gig is not for everyone; discover your strength and know what suits you.

- To monetize your skills and knowledge in a chosen career path, aim at becoming a subject matter first.

-Build credibility, invest in improving upon existing skills, network and be consistent if you plan to earn from a career or side gig.

- A side gig should serve a purpose, solve a problem or help others acquire or improve a skill. It can be an activity/niche you are interested in or passionate about.

- Clearly articulate the reason for starting a side gig; as it is your ‘WHY’ that will determine your audience, product, and pricing.

- Identify and understand the opportunity cost your side gig will demand.

- Create a business structure around your side gig to enable you to scale as you expand.

TrendyMum Talks 9.0 held on the 24th of April 2021

Enobong our GAINT for April, is that ideal girl, adventurous, momtrepreneur, witty, and fitness buff - she is an urban bae by nature. Blessed with beautiful children doing exploits and a great family of awesome siblings and mother. Enobong has over 28 years of experience in sectors that cut across banking, Finance, Power, FMCG, and exploring possibilities into a new sector (under wraps).

When she’s not resolving customer’s complaints or conflict resolution, you can find her doing one of her community services which are rehabilitating deviant youths otherwise known as ‘’Area Boys’, whipping up a delicious gluten-free smoothie treat, running at least 13km, swimming, lifting weights at the gym or culled up in her bed under her duvet watching a thriller movie on Netflix or reading her bible and other books.

She shared her fitness journey with participants and encouraged all to;
1. Clearly define your purpose for health and fitness
2. Get a plan to stay accountability
3. Have a fitness buddie to stay encouraged
4. Have a mantra to stay inspired
5. Track your progress

TrendyMum Talks 7.0 held on the 27th of February 2021

Our January GIANT - Crystal Chigbu is a cheerful, free-spirited, and open-minded person who loves food and window shopping. You are right if you call her the life of a party, for she loves to dance too!

She is the Founder of The Irede Foundation which was birth in 2012 following her personal experience. She is a Development Consultant focused on helping children living with limb loss live self-sufficient lives.

She has set a standard in the disability space through her advocacy and strongly believes that "disability is only a thing of the mind."

Crystal encouraged us to categorize our relationships into buckets of family, friends, business partners, romantic relationships, help/support systems.

Also to be genuinely interested in people as we were not created to live in isolation.
